Practical Astrology Training Program
Kelly teaches an 18month Practical Astrology Program. Working through 6 units, students move from beginner’s to advanced level astrology through classes, assignments and supervised practice. Classes run at various times of the year, mostly online. Depending on demand, live courses are also offered in Sydney NSW and Toronto ON.
You can enter the program at any level (depending on your prior knowledge or training). The course is designed to give students a practical grounding in the theory, art, science and application of Astrology. It draws on traditional techniques for modern life so along the way students also learn about themselves.
A six month extension is offered for students, who, after completing the course, wish to take either the Federation of Australian Astrologers or Canadian Association of Astrology Education certifying exams.
Each Level includes 12 – 16 hours of classes, (depending on whether you study online or in person) and are delivered in a combination of weekly classes or weekend intensive format. Workshops run for 8 hours.
Course Overview
Your first 6 months of training provides skills towards birth chart interpretation. It includes the following courses:
Practical Astrology Level 1 – Signs, Houses, Time, History
Practical Astrology Level 2 – Planets, Moon Phases, Aspects, Dignities
Birth Chart Interpretation Workshop - Pulling it all together
Your second 6 months of training introduces dynamic techniques like predictions and chart comparison skills, as well as providing ongoing practice of chart interpretation techniques. It includes the following courses:
Practical Astrology Level 3 – Predictions (Transits and Progressions)
Practical Astrology Level 4 – Relationships – Chart Comparison Techniques and Forecasting
Forecasts in Action Workshop – Sept/Oct 2012, dates TBC
Your third six months of training rounds out your astrological education with extra topics that enhance your understanding of astrology, as well as provide exposure to a variety of techniques to deepen your understanding of forecasting work and chart synthesis. It includes the following courses:
Practical Astrology 5 – Predictions (Returns, Solar Arc Directions, Fidaria, Profections)
Practical Astrology 6 – Horary, Electional, Parts, Fixed Stars Toronto, June 3 +24

Cost
Each Practical Astrology Level (1 – 6) is $260. Workshops are $90 each. The course is run on a ‘pay as you go’ system, so as you sign up for each level, that’s when you pay.

Sydney Beginner’s Astrology Workshop: Sunday November 25, 2012
This one day workshop explores chart essentials like houses, signs and planets.
The day is broken into three segments. First, you’ll hear about the 12 houses – the astrological mandala. You’ll see how key areas of life, like money, health, love or career, are connected to specific parts of your chart.
Next, you’ll go behind the 12 star signs and discover what really makes each sign tick. Learn about elements and modalities and how they affect your life through your chart.
Finally, the planets are introduced. You’ll learn their mythology and see how these characters symbolise different parts of yourself.
The day ends with examples of how you can layer these chart basics to begin creating simple astrological interpretations. It's a tasting plate of beginner's astrology to get you started on exploring birth charts.

Bring: a copy of your birth chart. If you don’t have one, you can create one free online at www.astro.com , or one can be created for you when you book for a small fee.
This workshop is designed for beginners. It covers basic astrology. It’s ideal for interested newbies, or those that are self-taught and would like to put some structure around their knowledge.
To ensure you get the most out of the day, please bring a copy of your birth chart. A pre-reading package will also be supplied once your booking payment has been received.

Beyond Aspects: Special Considerations for Natal Planets
Is your Mercury a scout or analyst? How is morning star Venus different from evening star? Is your Moon fast or slow - and what does this all mean? There is so much more to planet work than just aspects! This studyshop provides extra tips and tricks for working with planets, drawing on a variety of historical approaches.
You'll explore the intimate workings of birth charts through exploring the following special considerations:

Beyond 2012: An Overview of the Astrology of the 2013
This 2.5 hour presentation explores the big picture trends of the year ahead. Outer planet cycles are highlighted providing a broad overview of astrological climate for 2013. Major aspect patterns created by the outer planets, the nodes and the eclipses, as well planet retrogrades, like those of Venus and Mars, are explored.
Designed as a general lecture, this presentation provides a look into 2013, showing attendees which astrological signs, planets and energies are active and when.
